The Rich have Good Taste [Rated T - Private]

Ikari was gliding through the sky lazily. He wasn't very high, just high enough so as not to smash into a tree. He was checking out his surroundings from his vantage point in the sky. The trees receded, he was coming up to flat ground. There was some water off to his left. What was once probably a nice lake. Every now and then, a big house like structure could be seen, or at least what remained of it. This must have been a resort area at one time, beach side manors along the shore of the lake. Rich people often have nice things, he thought to himself. It could be worth his time to go and search through one of the manors. Cupboards full of expensive food, some of which must be canned and still good. Expensive and intriguing things from the past which could be stolen and used for trades later on. Maybe a collection of something, such as weapons or gold items. All sorts of goodies awaited him. The more he thought about it, the more it sounded like a good idea. He had talked himself into it, without ever saying a word. The next time that he came to a manor, he descended upon it. Walking to the front door, he kicked it in. The old door easily broke off its hinges. He didn't like dealing with locks, and being a manor, the door had almost certainly been locked. The room that he came to first was well lit, there was lots of windows and it was midday. Hopefully all of the rooms were this well lit. Ikari walked inside the manor.

Harimanne had spent her day looking over the small amount of water that was once a giant lake. Contemplating on doing something else, she looked up at the heavily clouded sky; she thought she saw something flying…maybe it was her wild imagination again. Standing up, she stretched herself out and opened her large wings. Kicking off of the ground hard, she through herself off of the remains of the building she was sitting on and flapped her long wings. Where to go now, she thought; it isn’t like I have anywhere special to go…I’m just a drifter, she thought even more miserably that usual.

She had spotted a large building; it was a mansion or manor…whatever humans called those damn things, anyway. Harimanne debated on going in there, there could be a lot of things that could be useful, but it could also be a disappointment if there is shit all in it. Swooping down, her boots made a small clacking sound as she touched ground again. She had decided to go in, what the hell, right? Luckily for her, the door had been kicked in, so she wouldn’t have to waste her breath by doing it herself; not that it was any trouble.

Ikari looked around the room that he had entered. It was a big room, with two staircases at the opposite end leading to a second floor. Both were in the shape of a half circle at opposing corners of the room, and were mirror images of each other. He walked towards the staircase on the right, observing the room around him. At one time, this had been a beautiful room, the walls a bright white colour, the floors so clean you could see your reflection. Now the walls were still a white colour, but not quite a clean colour. They were halfway between white and a cream colour. The floors were somewhat clean still, you could see somewhat of a reflection in some places. He left dirty footprints behind him as he walked.

When he reached the stairs, he started to go up them. Halfway up the stairs, he noticed something from the corner of his eyes. Back at the door, there stood a figure. He turned to face this figure. It was a woman, she had pale skin, and did not wear much clothes. He noticed wings on her, they looked like those of a bat. Another avian, this could be fun. His pole secure behind him, his dagger at his ankle, he looked at the new person, whom had quietly entered the building behind him.

"Hello. Who might you be?"

Ikari was surprised by the sudden noise that this new person was making. Ikari had kicked open the door because he didn't want to deal with a lock. This guy just felt like making noise. Taking the pole from behind him out, he eyed the sword that the other had. It seemed to be made of bone, and bone could be broken by a heavy impact from something hard. His pole was a type of metal, and quite sturdy and hard, definitely capable of breaking bones. This would be fun, he thought to himself. He started to walk towards the opponent, menacing the pole in his hand. He noticed a third person from the corner of his eye. This one was a girl, didn't appear to have a weapon out. He would deal with her later, first he would deal with the one that had a sword out. As long as she didn't attack him from behind, he was good. The one with the sword obviously wanted a fight, so a fight he would get. Walking towards him, he had a firm grip on his weapon, ready to use it on the man. Nothing had to be said, he just wanted to fight. It was all he knew how to do, and it was all he needed to know.

She looked up at the boy, another avian; how interesting, she thought to herself. Drawing herself up to full height, she bowed low to the boy; not dropping her eye contact from him. Harimanne kept both of her arms folded in front of her, and her wings tucked behind her back. He wanted know her name, did he? Well, she wasn’t going to speak…and it would take a lot to get her talking again, though he did seem rather pleasant at the moment.

There was no reply from her. She seemed quiet, and she never took her eyes off of him, even when she bowed to him. He would have to be careful with her. As the expression went, it was always the quiet ones you had to watch. If she didn't speak, then she couldn't be sidetracked by conversation in a fight. Fighting with her could possibly be very devastating. He wanted to explore the house, but he didn't want to turn his back to her. She might sneak up on him and attack him. She had entered quiet enough, he hadn't heard her. Though she was only at the entrance, maybe when she walked around inside she would be a bit louder. He stayed there, looking at her from halfway up the stairs.

"Don't like talking, huh?"

Straightening her back, she continued to gaze up at the figure. Shaking her head slightly, she began to walk forward, still looking at the boy. She made her way over to the stairway; now only feet from the figure. Lifting her foot, she placed it down on the stair, not making a single noise. She walked a quarter of the way up the stairs, so she was now in front of the male; what would occur now?

She made no sound as she walked towards him. She was walking up the stairs. He walked slowly backwards to the top of the stairs. He kept walking a bit so that there was a few feet between him and the stairs. He looked at the quiet woman walking towards him. Was he going to have to fight her, or did she have something else in mind? Whatever she wanted, he would have to be ready for the worst.

He had backed away from her, was he afraid of her? Either way, she continued to make her way up the staircase until she was on the landing. Looking into his eyes, she quickly glanced around the room; it was rather pleasant looking. Turning her back to the male, she unfolded her large wings carefully as to not hit anything. Opening her wings at full span, she flapped them with all her might. Her goal was to create a large amount of wind to ward off any sort of beings that may have been in the room she was about to enter. After a few seconds of this, she stopped and folded her wings behind her back again. Taking another quick glance back at the male, she walked forward a few steps and peered in the room.
